New month. New blessings. Disclaimer: this is not a Beyoncé or Lion King related post!
We have been blessed with a new month, Mariah Carey has told us the countdown to Christmas is on! So before the panic of presents, I think it’s important to acknowledge the gift of seeing the November 1st.
A few of my friends and I have entered the eleventh month of the year short of friends and family members. It’s sad how much we appreciate and value life so much more in death. Whilst it is hard to find grace in grief, the one thing we can do is share our gratitude. Grateful for the memories they left us with, grateful for the memories to make with those still here and grateful that today we have been given the gift of life.
You are a gift – a God-given gift and no less. You are a gift to your family. You are a gift to your friends. And there are times like last month where God, for want of a better phrase, takes His gift back. So if there’s one thing you do today on the 1st, give thanks and recognise you are a gift. You are:
- Great (actually more than great!)
“I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.”
- Immeasurably loved
“No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
“And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.”
- The M.V.P!
“But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered [for the Father is sovereign and has complete knowledge]. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.”
Lay your Foundations in the comments
- As you enter the penultimate month of the year, what you are grateful for?
